Video gaming minds from the East and the West have recently joined forces to deliver to us some interesting action titles in the near future. Electronic Arts signed a partnership with Grasshopper Manufacture and Epic Games during its Bay Area showcase event, revealing a few new projects in the works for the new studio, EA Partners. Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive (who's not seemingly very interactive in this case) are still engaged in a struggle as to the negotiations pertaining to the acquisition. It's been going on quite a long while now, and still there's no clear light at the end of the tunnel. Well, at least it gives Michael Pachter something to do.  How much grief must a muggle bear? Just days after news hit that Warner Brothers was pushing the release of the sixth movie in the septology into 2009 comes this quote from an Electronic Arts spokesman regarding the fate of the videogame adaptation:

“We are making a great game that Harry Potter fans will really enjoy — we are evaluating the impact of the movie date change,”

The Need for Speed ProStreet gig didn't work out for Electronic Arts and internal studio Black Box, but the superstar publisher decided they could still make a turnaround for the franchise again, starting with Need for Speed Undercover. Perhaps guided by the popularity of night and illegal street racing movies, Need for Speed Undercover's design resettled for the open sandbox design of Most Wanted with a different story. A story, they say, that will include Mission Impossible 3's Maggie Q.

It's been a while since we heard anything new come out for this game, but it seems Electronic Arts has finally given out new details on The Godfather II for the Xbox 360, the Playstation 3, and the PC. Go to the full article to find out more.

Electronic Arts hasn't always been viewed as a publisher that puts out the greatest licensed games. Its CEO, however, took exception to that. John Riccitiello says their titles are innovative and Metacritic may just be inaccurate in some instances. More after the jump.

Sega may not be the console manufacturing giant that it was in the early to mid-90's, but it's pretty happy where it's at right now. The publisher says it's in a good position to succeed and it's looking at companies like THQ to compete with. The game maker, however, said that it doesn't aim to compete with industry giants just yet. More in the full article.

Electronic Arts, the biggest game publisher in North America, has released the numbers and highlights for fiscal 2008's opening quarter. Amazingly, the PlayStation 3 is leading the pack in EA's portfolios with a very sharp spike in sales from last year. More after the jump.
